Update July 3rd:

Sarah Fossum (light) met Helene Weingart of Germany in the first round.  Sara was very aggressive and landed some strong kicks to the body to even the score early at 4-4, but her opponent was able to pull away in the third round.  Sarah ended the match down 4-11.

The 2010 World University Taekwondo Championships are currently underway and Sara Fossum is set to compete tomorrow, July 3rd.  Her first round match is against Germany (Download the her bracket in PDF form: Click Here for PDF).  Live coverage of the event is provided online for free and can be viewed at the link provided below.

If you plan on watching the competition, morning competition begins at 9am CSET (or 1:00am).

Sara Fossum will be representing the University of Colorado at Boulder and Team USA at the 2010 World University Taekwondo Championships in the Women's Light Weight Olympic Sparring division on Jun 29th to July 4th!

Monday August 30, 2010 6-7 pm RCCR 3-4

The CU Taekwondo Team competed on April 17 & 18th at the NCTA Collegiate National Championships and performed very well in the sparring competition.  All athletes performed at their top abilities and it showed in their performance.  Everyone had the ability to medal at the event but sometimes the calls were not in CU's favor.  Congratulations to all those that competed!  At the end of the competition CU Taekwondo earned 3 medals - 1 gold and 2 silvers:

GOLD     Jordan Haines
SILVER   Josh Yang
SILVER   Sara Fossum

Additionally, with Sara's silver medal performance in the Black Belt division, she has qualified a spot on the 2010 Pan American Collegiate Taekwondo Team where she will represent the University of Colorado Boulder and USA!!!  Further, she has qualified a spot for the 2010 Nationals.
