2012-2013 Season is a Wrap!

The 2012-2013 University of Colorado Boulder Taekwondo Club Team season has come to an end!

This season was a great tournament year for the club. The club had athletes represent the university at numerous tournaments, including:

– Colorado Cup (local)
– CTA Mile High Open Championship (local)
– Rocky Mountain Collegiate League Tournament (local)
– New Mexico Open (out of state)
– US Open in Las Vegas (international)
– Twin Dragons Tournament (local)
– Colorado State Championships (state)
– Collegiate Nationals (national) (story)

Most importantly, the club formed a strong community for student athletes that are driven by competition and the desire to improve themselves. The club has transformed what was once a team of like-minded individuals to a tight-knit family.

We say goodbye to our beloved assistant coach, Paige Northway, who will be heading to the University of Washington to pursue her graduate degree. We will miss you and wish you the best in your studies!

Current president, David Lee, will graduate this semester and plans to return as an assistant coach. He hopes to do his best to fill in the void caused by Paige’s departure. The club is also excited to welcome the next wave of officers in Rodney Hooks, Cameron Carter, Nicole Anderson, Chen Deandrea, and Leslie Luk. You’re all going to do great!

It has been a wonderful year for CU Taekwondo. The club will anxiously be waiting for the start of the Fall 2013 season in August, as it looks to grow its membership, find more tournament success, and continue to strengthen its family bonds. See you in August!
